About the position

Nidec Motor Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to join our team in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This role is pivotal in developing a variety of product designs for both home and commercial markets. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating new products, supporting legacy products, sizing and selecting components, and generating the necessary documentation to facilitate product testing, qualification, and production. In this position, you will review customer specifications and requirements to develop compliant designs that best support them. You will also be tasked with developing manufacturing drawings, bills of material, and associated supporting documentation for the fabrication and delivery of products and prototypes. Evaluating supplier components, subsystems, and services will be a key responsibility, as will supporting the testing, qualification, documentation, and analysis of prototypes, products, systems, or subsystems. Additionally, you will be involved in the development of technical documentation, manuals, and procedures. Collaboration with manufacturing and cross-functional teams will be essential to achieve project cost and manufacturing efficiency goals. The role will also require hands-on support of prototype fabrication, assembly, and testing, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer specifications and requirements and develop compliant designs to best support them.
  • Develop manufacturing drawings, bills of material and associated supporting documentation for fabrication and delivery of products and prototypes.
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services.
  • Support testing, qualification, documentation and analysis of prototypes, products, systems or subsystems.
  • Development of technical documentation, manuals and procedures.
  • Work with manufacturing and cross functional teams to achieve project cost and manufacturing efficiency goals.
  • Hands-on support of prototype fabrication, assembly and test.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Competent technical expertise and application domain knowledge in Electrical, Software and Systems.
  • Competent using MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint).
  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge by conferring with technical specialists and suppliers, attending educational workshops, and reviewing professional publications.
