About the position

The Electrical Engineer II will work independently on engineering design and analysis for nuclear products/projects like electrical system, instrumentation and controls designs, and system wiring using Microsoft Office Suite and Software Packages like ETAP, Mathcad and Maximo. They will interface with internal functional groups to obtain engineering information and perform planning and scheduling to meet assignment requirements while learning to evaluate, select and utilize standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria for development design documents like technical evaluations, obsolete parts equivalencies, calculations, and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently on engineering design and analysis for nuclear products/projects.
  • Design electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls.
  • Perform system wiring using Microsoft Office Suite and software packages like ETAP, Mathcad, and Maximo.
  • Interface with internal functional groups to obtain engineering information.
  • Perform planning and scheduling to meet assignment requirements.
  • Evaluate, select, and utilize standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria for development design documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years' engineering design experience for electrical system design
  • Experience with load flow studies, short circuit analysis, protective relay settings, instrumentation and controls, and system wiring
  • Experience developing procurement specifications for electrical commodities and reviewing proposals
  • Experience with power plant systems and projects
  • Familiarity with ETAP, Maximo, or similar software
  • Ability to interface with functional groups to perform work assignments
  • Planning and scheduling skills to meet requirements
  • Ability to resolve client and site personnel issues
  • Willingness to travel to client sites

Nice-to-haves

  • 4-6 years' experience in electrical engineering
  • Experience in nuclear engineering
  • FE licensure
  • Experience with obsolete parts
  • Experience in reverse engineering for electrical and mechanical parts
  • Knowledge of commercial grade dedication
  • Master's degree in Engineering
