About the position

As a Level 2 Electrical Engineer at WHOOP, you will be instrumental in developing innovative products aimed at optimizing human performance. This role involves collaboration with various multidisciplinary teams to design, test, and produce high-quality hardware that meets the reliability and functionality standards expected by our members.

Responsibilities

  • Design cutting-edge, miniaturized, low-power, and mixed-signal electronics using the latest PCB manufacturing technologies.
  • Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using industry-standard ECAD tools such as Altium, and simulation software like SPICE.
  • Contribute to the development of electrical architectures, component selection, and detailed electrical specifications to deliver production-ready designs.
  • Prototype, debug, and conduct detailed analysis of electrical systems using advanced lab equipment and testing techniques.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, contract manufacturers (CMs), and internal teams to ensure seamless scaling of products from prototypes to mass production.
  • Assist in manufacturing and supply chain efforts during New Product Introduction (NPI), including supplier selection, qualification, and development of functional and automated test systems.
  • Participate in verification and validation testing, reliability assessments, and regulatory compliance strategies, working closely with cross-functional teams to meet all technical and legal standards.
  • Travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%) to collaborate with partners, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, ideally with exposure to product development and manufacturing.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of circuit design, including power supply systems and digital communication protocols.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout, and design reviews using ECAD tools like Altium.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, impedance analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think analytically and creatively.
  • A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
