Our Client is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to play a crucial role in planning, maintaining, and coordinating electrical maintenance, upgrades, new installations, and day-to-day operations. This position is essential in providing electrical engineering support aimed at minimizing downtime, increasing profitability, and ensuring compliance with government and environmental safety standards. The role is based in Missouri and requires a proactive approach to electrical engineering tasks, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and safely. The Electrical Engineer II will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment to meet regulatory standards. This includes providing maintenance on existing systems to ensure they remain operational. The engineer will also be tasked with completing electrical maintenance planning, budgeting, and upgrades for preventative maintenance, as well as performing reactive maintenance by conducting root cause failure analysis to identify and prevent future issues. In addition to technical responsibilities, the position may involve supervising electricians and instrumentation technicians in their daily activities. The engineer will serve as a project manager, detailing the scope of work, providing specifications, planning, coordinating, budgeting, and hiring outside contractors when necessary. This includes sending materials lists out for bid and ensuring that costs remain within budget. Safety is a paramount concern in this role. The Electrical Engineer II will conduct safety audits, walk around the site to identify issues and corrections, and monitor installed systems. They will also review current electrical drawings and schematics, documenting any changes, additions, or deletions, ensuring that all documentation supports the equipment with accurate technical drawings, plans, schematics, and procedures. The engineer will be responsible for designing new and replacement control systems by evaluating appropriate electrical system upgrades. They will manage work orders, project management sheets, ordered parts, and various paperwork, reports, and forms. Completing tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner is essential, following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices. The engineer will support and assist peers in maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations, and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
