Development Resource Group, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer II for a custom machine builder that specializes in the design, engineering, fabrication, and assembly of custom equipment. This position is pivotal in designing control systems for industrial automation machines according to customer specifications. The role encompasses a variety of tasks including producing electrical schematics, creating bills of materials (BOMs), selecting components such as sensors, motors, drives, and PLCs, as well as programming variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLCs, and human-machine interfaces (HMIs). The Electrical Engineer II will also be responsible for performing equipment verification tests, laying out and wiring components within control panels, mounting sensors, and routing cables for automated machines. A successful candidate will demonstrate a keen attention to detail and possess a solid understanding of the tools and methods required for electrical design. This role also involves providing guidance to less experienced team members, ensuring that the team meets project deadlines and maintains high standards of quality. The position requires up to 5% interstate travel and 10% local travel for team meetings, client consultations, field surveys, and construction observation. The Electrical Engineer II will work collaboratively with a team to design electrical solutions for automated machines, utilizing AutoCAD Electrical to develop electrical schematics and ensuring that control panels are built to UL508A standards. In addition to technical skills, the role demands strong communication abilities to interact with customers and vendors, manage project priorities, and provide technical support for existing and new equipment installations. The Electrical Engineer II will also be responsible for identifying and implementing equipment improvements that enhance productivity, quality, and safety while reducing costs.
