About the position

The Electrical Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) will assist in implementing design concepts under the supervision of a licensed Electrical Engineer. This role involves working on various electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and low voltage systems, while also performing electrical calculations and generating necessary drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Implement design concepts as provided by the Electrical Engineer.
  • Perform electrical calculations including load calculations, selective coordination, and arc flash studies using SKM Power Tools.
  • Generate lighting, power, low voltage system drawings, one-line diagram drawings, and as-built drawings.
  • Develop Revit drawings and coordinate with other disciplines.
  • Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications.
  • Provide electrical conceptual and detailed designs, methods, and materials specifications.
  • Make sourcing recommendations for electrical products based on client and project requirements.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited four-year university.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification or planning to take the PE Exam in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • Two to three years' experience performing electrical engineering/design-related duties.
  • Proficiency in working with Revit MEP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Proficiency with lighting design software (ElumTools, Visual, AGI 32, etc.).
  • Proficiency with SKM Power Tools.
  • Strong communication skills to convey design details and specifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local building codes and safety laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work proactively with project stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
