About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at a growing A&E consulting firm in Akron, Ohio, involves gathering and analyzing technical data to prepare basic electrical engineering designs for various client projects. This role is essential for ensuring the successful execution of engineering calculations and plan development, contributing to the firm's projects in sectors such as chemicals, petrochemicals, and energy.

Responsibilities

• Performing engineering calculations and plan development.
• Collecting and preparing data/information and performing detailed engineering calculations.
• Specify power system equipment, switchgear, unit substations, motor control centers, drive systems, grounding systems, and lighting systems.
• Create electrical load studies, control schematics, and electrical engineering details.
• Assist in field work by developing scope of work, making staff recommendations, and checking drawings.
• Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Co-op experience preferred
• Experience/Knowledge with service areas: Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Polymers, Utility, Energy & Manufacturing
• Knowledgeable in protective relaying and short circuit studies (EasyPower or similar modeling software)
• Experience/Knowledge with Power, Lighting & Electrical Distribution, Electrical One-Line Drawings, Electrical Load Studies, Protective Relaying, Arc Flash Studies, Power Equipment List, and other Electrical Drawings
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
