About the position

As an Electrical Engineer in Infrastructure Construction at SpaceX, you will be part of the HQ construction team responsible for designing, building, and activating advanced manufacturing facilities. This role involves creating high power electrical systems for new construction projects, collaborating with various engineering disciplines, and managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Your work will directly contribute to SpaceX's mission of enabling human life on Mars.

Responsibilities

  • Design and specify electrical power distribution systems, switch-gear, motor control centers, and lighting systems.
  • Provide electrical engineering support for troubleshooting existing electrical equipment and controllers.
  • Conduct load flow analysis and evaluate electrical equipment for facility systems.
  • Ensure compatibility of electrical designs with facility power budgets and other mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate electrical installations and maintenance with local utilities personnel.
  • Review and analyze electrical designs for compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • 1+ years of professional experience in electrical projects, power distribution systems, and generators.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a similar role.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Ability to read and understand power and control schematics.
  • Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and industrial pumps.
  • Familiarity with MODBUS communication and medium voltage distribution.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
