About the position

The Electrical Engineer IV position at Actalent involves working within the Reality Labs team to develop and prototype innovative VR hardware products. The role focuses on circuit design, layout, bring-up, and debugging as part of the prototyping and concept development process. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to create high-fidelity prototypes that express design intent and enhance user experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical circuits for prototypes and concepts.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, research and development, and industrial design teams.
• Debug and bring up systems as part of prototype development.
• Work with firmware/software teams to define and implement necessary firmware and drivers.
• Utilize design tools such as Altium or Cadence for schematic capture and PCB layout.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 4+ years of experience in system-level electrical design including circuit design and system integration.
• Experience in low-power circuit design and power management methods.
• Proficiency with microcontrollers and various communication protocols (I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S).
• Hands-on experience with debugging equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
• Experience with mixed-signal board-level design and programming in C/C++ and Python.
