Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering is seeking an Early Career Electrical Engineer for the Lenexa, Kansas office. This position is designed for individuals who are eager to grow within the Kiewit team by helping to establish, maintain, and improve company standards and tools. Familiarity with current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software is essential, along with an understanding of design documentation creation and layouts. Specialized expertise in plant floor process design, packaging, refrigerated/frozen facility design, and ammonia refrigeration systems is also a key focus area.

Responsibilities

  • Develop preliminary engineering design and detail engineering design for industrial projects
  • Perform load calculations and coordination study for facility electrical systems utilizing engineering software, like ETAP
  • Develop technical reports and white papers
  • Perform field surveys and field tests
  • Experience with Food & Beverage work, area classification, and sanitary design preferred

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields
  • Master's degree is preferred
  • GPA above 3.0 preferred
  • 0-3 years in preliminary and detail design performing Industrial or Food & Beverage engineering related duties
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • EIT (Engineer in Training) is preferred
  • Ability to travel as business requires
  • Proficient in CAD software, like AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
