About the position

The Experienced Electrical Engineer (Senior or Lead) will design and develop hardware for complex electrical and optomechanical systems specifically for aerospace and defense applications. This role involves full design cycle responsibility, including the creation of embedded electronics boards and troubleshooting existing products. The engineer will collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that the electrical hardware meets system requirements and specifications, while also leading small to medium-sized projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop hardware for complex electrical and optomechanical systems.
• Lead projects analyzing complex issues and determining development methodologies.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation for systems in development and production.
• Troubleshoot electronics issues in existing products.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to meet system requirements and design specifications.
• Present information effectively to peers, managers, and external clients.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• Full design cycle responsibility from circuit design to qualification.
• Strong data analytics and systems troubleshooting ability.
• Experience with engineering workflows including requirements capture and testing/verification.
• Ability to handle aggressive deadlines with a results-driven approach.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in working autonomously and within a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• MS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Architecture of interconnects using embedded communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, RS232, RS485).
• Experience with schematic design of small embedded processing boards.
• Video electronics design experience using CameraLink, HD-SDI, and analog video interfaces.
• Experience with Agile Development and systems engineering mindset.
