We are excited about the innovative ways we can change the world, and we are looking for an experienced Electrical Professional Engineer to join our team of multi-disciplinary experts. In this role, you will utilize your design expertise to develop innovative electrical systems that contribute to sustainability solutions, particularly in the context of water and wastewater utility projects. As an Electrical Professional Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of electrical distribution systems primarily for water and wastewater treatment facilities. This includes working on process treatment structures and buildings, where your collaboration skills will be essential in coordinating interdisciplinary work among team members for both local and remote projects. You will take the lead in generating and reviewing electrical equipment drawings, specifications, and approving vendor submittals, ensuring that we maintain the solid relationships our clients have come to expect from Jacobs. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also have the opportunity to focus on lighting design for various buildings and infrastructure-related projects, working closely with other disciplines. You will utilize software such as AGI32 and Visual for lighting design, and you will be responsible for generating project documents, including drawings, using Revit, AutoCAD, and MicroStation software. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of electrical distribution systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Generate and review electrical equipment drawings and specifications.
  • Approve vendor submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary work among team members for local and remote projects.
  • Assist in identifying and pursuing internal and external business opportunities.
  • Focus on lighting design for various buildings and infrastructure projects in collaboration with other disciplines.
  • Utilize AGI32 and Visual software for lighting design.
  • Generate project documents including drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, and MicroStation software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license and ability to be licensed in multiple states.
  • 5 years of experience in professional design of electrical systems, preferably associated with water projects.
  • Low and medium voltage power distribution experience.
  • Solid understanding of applicable industry electrical codes and standard practices, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA requirements.
  • Hands-on knowledge and design proficiency in electrical standards, codes, and vendor equipment options.
  • Experience with AGI32.
  • Experience with BIM/CAD programs such as MicroStation, AECOSim, AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Good oral and written communication skills to work with multi-discipline teams across multiple office locations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Instrumentation and Control system design experience.
  • LEED or similar sustainable design experience.
  • Experience with renewable energy systems like wind and solar.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 820 requirements.
