As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for performing all levels of electrical design, including the development of construction documents. You will receive broad guidance relating to overall key objectives and critical issues, applying your extensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices across various assignments. Your role will involve designing complex electrical systems in accordance with current code requirements and sound engineering principles, overseeing designs through project construction and completion, and effectively communicating with engineers, project managers, and clients. You will also conduct field observation visits to document existing field conditions and organize multiple tasks to complete designs efficiently within predetermined budgets. In this position, you will be expected to complete electrical calculations, design layouts for electrical system devices, and produce project construction documents that meet milestone schedules. You will attend coordination and design meetings, define project specifications, and address comments from clients and review authorities. Your commitment to quality and your ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks will be crucial to your success in this role. Responsibilities

  • Design complex electrical systems in accordance with current code requirements and sound engineering principles.
  • Oversee designs through project construction and completion.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and clients.
  • Conduct field observation visits to document existing field conditions.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks to complete designs efficiently.
  • Complete electrical calculations including load studies, voltage drop, and generator sizing.
  • Design and layout electrical system devices, distribution components, and lighting systems.
  • Produce project construction documents to meet milestone schedules within budget.
  • Attend coordination and design meetings as needed.
  • Define project specifications and budget construction cost estimating.
  • Address comments from clients and review authorities, adjusting designs accordingly.
  • Review project-related construction administrative items if directed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • Five or more years of relevant industry-related experience in design of commercial, government, academic, R&D, multi-family, industrial, and similar projects.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software, SKM software tools, and/or Lighting Design software.
  • EIT and LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
