About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at our MEP architectural and design firm involves hands-on engagement with multiple projects, focusing on the design and implementation of electrical systems for building projects. The role emphasizes a commitment to environmentally responsible practices and requires collaboration with construction personnel to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to project schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop design criteria and equipment selection for construction document preparation.
  • Create specs, working drawings, and instructions for complex projects.
  • Analyze intricate design problems, introducing new or improved techniques.
  • Consult with construction personnel on design constructability issues.
  • Monitor project progress for technical accuracy, adherence to schedule, and budget.
  • Provide construction phase services, including shop drawing review, RFIs, field observation, and punch lists.
  • Prepare design narratives, technical studies, and condition assessments.
  • Conduct field investigations and document existing conditions.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate work for lower-level engineers on specific projects.
  • Organize and supervise design engineering activities for significant projects or multiple projects.
  • Inspect installed electrical systems to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Resolve electrical planning issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Update product database with relevant data for records and communication.
  • Support junior and senior team members on projects and subtasks.
  • Lead groups of engineers and technicians on projects.
  • Contribute to project milestones, ensuring all deadlines are met.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of electrical engineering/systems engineering experience for building systems / MEP-related projects.
  • Proficient in engineering and designing/coordinating power distribution systems, lighting systems, and auxiliary systems.
  • Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of the coordination aspects of all design disciplines and how they impact the project.
  • Team-oriented problem-solving skills and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to organize work, multi-task, and effectively work within a project team.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or an engineering-related curriculum from an accredited college or university.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $110,000 per year.
