About the position

Altieri is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their consulting engineering firm in Norwalk. The role involves designing electrical systems for large institutional projects, ensuring compliance with local codes and energy efficiency standards, and collaborating with clients and team members to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design building power and lighting systems, including lighting control systems, fire alarm systems, security and information technology systems.
• Drafting 2D and 3D designs utilizing Revit.
• Ensure designs meet local, state, and electrical codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IEEE) and energy efficiency standards.
• Prepare load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and voltage drop calculations to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Conduct site visits to monitor the progress of electrical installations, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
• Design electrical systems in alignment with LEED certification or other sustainability guidelines, if applicable.
• Attend client meetings to discuss project scope, requirements, and design solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience.
• PE license a plus.
• Team player with proven ability to work collaboratively both internally and externally to accomplish goals.
• Strong attention to detail.
