About the position

As a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer, you will be part of a dedicated Electrical Engineering team that specializes in the design of power systems for a variety of industrial applications, including ethanol production, specialty chemicals, grain processing, and feed mills. The team is committed to developing sustainable green energy solutions, particularly in the area of solar power, to support the renewable energy initiatives of municipal and industrial clients. Your role will involve delivering engineering services of exceptional quality, ensuring that all work meets the high standards expected by our clients. In this position, you will contribute to the creation of top-tier construction documentation, which includes detailed calculations, precise drawings, and thorough specifications. You will also conduct site observations during the construction phase, generating comprehensive reports as necessary. This may involve some travel, estimated at up to 5%, to various job sites to ensure that projects are progressing as planned. You will be expected to utilize specialized software efficiently to execute engineering designs and manage your time effectively to align with project budgets and timelines. Communication will be key in this role, as you will facilitate interactions with clients and contractors, addressing Requests for Information (RFIs) and field inquiries as needed. Your analytical expertise will be crucial in providing comprehensive services for both new and existing power systems, including load flow studies, short circuit analysis, arc flash risk assessments, and power factor correction strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engineering services of exceptional quality.
  • Contribute to the creation of top-tier construction documentation, including detailed calculations, precise drawings, and thorough specifications.
  • Conduct site observations during the construction phase, generating comprehensive reports as necessary.
  • Utilize specialized software efficiently to execute engineering designs.
  • Manage time effectively, aligning with project budgets and timelines.
  • Facilitate communication with clients and contractors, addressing RFIs and field inquiries as needed.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, focusing on design and construction, or a valid P.E. license.
  • Proficiency in conducting electrical system studies, with experience in tools like SKM or ETAP.
  • Skilled in using engineering software such as Revit, Bluebeam, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in PV design is highly desirable.
