About the position

As a Mid Electrical Engineer at Booz Allen, you will leverage your engineering skills to support the US Navy by designing electronics and electrical assemblies, integrating hardware and software, and solving complex problems. This role involves collaborating with a team of engineers and technicians to analyze current technologies, develop new electrical designs, and support prototyping and manufacturing efforts. Your contributions will directly impact the mission of naval clients by developing prototypes and supporting operational systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review, interpret, and analyze electrical drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Support or conduct test events in laboratory, prototyping, or field environments.
  • Develop technical documentation, including 2D technical drawings and 3D models.
  • Collaborate with an integrated product team, including technical and non-technical teammates.
  • Perform analyses of current and future technologies and existing designs, including reverse engineering.
  • Develop new electrical designs and support prototyping and manufacturing efforts.
  • Conduct testing and support operationally fielded systems.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with reviewing, interpreting, and analyzing electrical drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Experience with supporting or conducting test events in laboratory, prototyping, or field environments.
  • Knowledge of basic engineering principles as they apply to hardware design and product development.
  • Ability to develop technical documentation, including 2D technical drawings and 3D models.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with fabrication, assembly, and integration of electromechanical prototype, maritime, or military systems.
  • Experience with printed circuit board (PCB) design.
  • Experience with lab-based developmental testing and test data acquisition.
  • Knowledge of programming languages, including C or C++.
  • Knowledge of development of embedded systems, including FPGA development.
  • Knowledge of product design for manufacturability, reliability, maintainability, and exposure to extreme environments.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to various audiences.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • EIT or PE Certification.
