About the position

The Electrical Engineer for Mission Critical Facilities will work under the supervision of a senior engineer, focusing on electrical design for various projects. This role involves tackling problems of diverse scope, where the analysis of data requires careful evaluation of identifiable factors. The engineer will exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies to select appropriate methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. The candidate may also serve as the primary contact with clients, necessitating a thorough understanding of low voltage electrical systems and the ability to execute projects with minimal oversight. In this position, the engineer will be responsible for traveling to project sites as required, utilizing various modes of transportation such as car, plane, or train. Key responsibilities include executing standard electrical calculations, making equipment selections, and applying equipment knowledge. A general understanding of electrical systems, electrical and building codes is essential. The engineer will also be expected to execute their own drafting using AutoCAD and Revit, conforming to company standards for these tools and network applications. Strong writing and oral communication skills are crucial, as the engineer must possess excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel, along with strong mathematical abilities. Familiarity with the preparation and evaluation of short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies is also required. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively with others while accepting direction from senior personnel. A self-starter attitude is necessary, as the engineer will need to work independently and be responsible for meeting deadlines, including working the necessary hours to ensure deliverables are met. Proficiency in the English language, including the ability to speak and write technical terms, is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • 5-7 years of experience in electrical design and AutoCAD/Revit
  • Professional Engineering License is a plus
  • Valid driver's license
