The Electrical Reliability Engineer at LyondellBasell is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the reliability, maintenance, and operation of the electrical distribution system at the Morris Site. This position requires a thorough understanding of medium and low voltage switchgear, transformers, motor control systems, relay coordination, and both predictive and preventive maintenance concepts. The engineer will utilize their troubleshooting skills to effectively analyze and maintain reliable equipment performance, ensuring that the electrical systems are maintained according to industry and corporate standards. In this role, the engineer will provide technical support and expertise, assisting E&I supervisors, specialists, technicians, planners, and engineers in troubleshooting electrical issues. They will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and implementing a preventive maintenance program, with a special emphasis on the electrical distribution system. The engineer will also participate in capital project teams, contributing to the development of design and installation specifications, commissioning plans, and evaluation of equipment and providers. They will ensure proper project closeout by updating equipment lists, standard operating procedures (SOPs), spare parts, and filing final project documents. Additionally, the Electrical Reliability Engineer will lead or participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis, maintaining awareness of emerging technologies to improve reliability and performance or reduce maintenance costs. They will systematically define, develop, maintain, and implement the site electrical long-range plan, and participate in plant and company-wide teams that develop strategic plans for reliability performance improvement, leading site implementation. The engineer will also support unit outages and site turnarounds, making this role critical to the operational success of the Morris Site.
