About the position

The Electrical Engineer, New Graduate will oversee electrical maintenance activities at the Alpena plant, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental standards. This role is part of the Holcim US Build4Growth Program, a 16-month development initiative designed to provide foundational knowledge and experience in cement manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate, improve, and adhere to safety policies in all work environments.
  • Promote electrical safety and safe work practices among employees and contractors.
  • Supervise electrical and instrumentation technicians in executing daily work orders and projects.
  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on plant electrical equipment, including systematic inspections and data analysis.
  • Document electrical schematics and manage spare parts inventory accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations in system programming.
  • Maintain system documentation, including equipment specifications and repair history.
  • Evaluate computer control equipment to meet plant requirements.
  • Implement changes to existing process control programs and provide training for plant personnel.
  • Troubleshoot control system hardware and software issues.
  • Participate in equipment and process modifications to enhance reliability and safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
