About the position

The Lead Electrical Engineer (P.E) position involves overseeing electrical engineering projects, performing calculations, and designing systems in compliance with established standards and codes. The role requires independent decision-making, leadership in project execution, and effective communication with clients and team members. The position is remote-friendly with flexible hours, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations and design systems according to established policies and codes.
  • Apply practical knowledge to resolve project-related problems and conflicts.
  • Make independent decisions for engineering tasks on assigned projects.
  • Occasionally supervise subordinate personnel or assist other engineers or designers.
  • Meet with Project Engineer and Project Manager to discuss design scope, schedule, budget, and site issues.
  • Prepare design budgets and schedules in collaboration with Project Manager and Project Engineer.
  • Estimate man-hours required to complete design requirements for projects.
  • Provide leadership and assign design job functions to designated designers.
  • Review engineering designs with other disciplines for function and coordination.
  • Perform quality assurance on projects in coordination with technical manager or project engineer.
  • Mentor and motivate Engineering designers I, II, and III.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience in electrical engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E).
  • Knowledge of discipline-specific codes and building codes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good leadership skills to educate clients on design and project requirements.
  • Proficient in REVIT and AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in engineering modeling tools.

  • Experience with power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm design.
  • Active listening and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Experience in equipment selection.
