In this role, the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing and modeling electrical systems under general supervision. The engineer will produce electrical design calculations and drawings based on various sources, including sketches, existing as-builts, and site maps. The position requires the creation of construction drawings and details, ensuring compliance with strict US Government requirements and deadlines. The engineer will also maintain the company's BIM/CAD Programs and collaborate with other design disciplines and consultants to ensure seamless project execution. The Electrical Engineer will oversee daily design deliverables, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Responsibilities include drafting electrical solutions, developing standard procedures, performing code analysis, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines. The role also involves writing technical specifications, conducting field observations, and assisting in the preparation of close-out documentation. This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a focus on delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor daily electrical design deliverables to ensure efficiencies and a cost-effective approach are taken
  • Administer organization of overall design commencement, development, production, and submission as the assigned PM on specific projects
  • Ensure compliance of drafting and engineering standards with the prescribed program
  • Design and draft electrical solutions, reports, and specifications using Revit, BIM 360, and/or ACAD for drawings
  • Develop electrical design standard procedures and a BIM/CAD Plan of Action, including libraries, details, templates, folder structures, and blocks for current and upcoming projects
  • Utilize standard engineering practices and techniques to adjust and correlate data and create schematic design and construction documents accurately and independently
  • Revise drawings from markups and/or instructions and self-check documents prior to release
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and subject matter experts to complete conflict resolution/interference workflow checks and clash detection as necessary
  • Write, edit, and publish technical specifications using SpecsIntact, MasterFormat, and other required formats
  • Perform code analysis using prescribed references
  • Create batch sets of construction drawings and individual sheets, combine, review, edit, hyperlink, perform QAQC, and upload final deliverables per customer standards
  • Assist in the preparation of close-out documentation including O&M manuals, warranties, and as-built drawings and specifications
  • Assist with Site Survey Documentation and perform Construction Administration
  • Complete assigned tasks on all projects in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of specialized electrical facility schematic design and design development experience
  • Professional registration as a Licensed Electrical Engineer with at least five years under registration, current and issued by a U.S. state or territory
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Extensive knowledge of ICC codes, NFPA 70 (NEC), NESC, and DoD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of current AutoCAD and other design and general office software
  • Experience conducting field observation to verify/obtain existing conditions of electrical site work and facility systems
