About the position

Radiance Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for an Electrical Engineer/Physicist to support the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) Technical Center, Space and High-Altitude Directorate in Huntsville, AL. The Electrical Engineer/Physicist will play a crucial role in the design, development, and testing of Space Domain Awareness (SDA), Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), and Command and Control (C2) Science and Technology (S&T) projects. These projects will involve Optical and Radio Frequency (RF) sensing and communications, requiring a talented individual who can collaborate with a multi-disciplined team to perform engineering analysis that guides requirement design, development, and Test and Evaluation (T&E). In this position, the Electrical Engineer/Physicist will assist with systems engineering activities and the development of hardware, software, and integrated systems. The role also includes responsibilities for laboratory and field experimentation and demonstrations, ensuring that the systems meet the required specifications and performance standards. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong communication skills, capable of exercising independent and professional judgment under moderate supervision. This position is essential for advancing the capabilities of the U.S. Army in the areas of space and missile defense, and it offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Optical and RF sensing and communications expertise.
  • Derive and maintain system technical requirements and engineering artifacts.
  • Provide technical guidance during system design, development, & T&E.
  • Provide oversight and/or perform complex integration activities.
  • Perform system experimentation, demonstrations, and T&E.
  • Exercise independent and professional judgment under moderate supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with applications entailing Optical and/or RF sensing and communications.
  • Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship with a SECRET clearance (Required) with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance (Preferred).

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or related field.
  • Experience with DoD SDA, ISR, and C2 missions.
