About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at our Ravenswood, WV facility is a critical role within the Plate Department, which serves a diverse range of markets including Transportation, Military Defense, and General Engineering. This position requires a strong background in manufacturing, as the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of electrical systems within the facility. The Electrical Engineer will work closely with maintenance crafts and production operators, emphasizing the importance of clear and effective communication at all levels of the organization. This role is not only about technical expertise but also about fostering a collaborative environment where team members can thrive. In this position, the Electrical Engineer will be expected to demonstrate leadership skills, managing and supervising craft employees and contractors. The role requires a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals, with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field being essential. Candidates should have 3 to 7 years of relevant experience, particularly in assessing and reporting safety hazards associated with low to medium voltage equipment. The ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, including controls, drives, and power systems, is crucial. Familiarity with PLC programming, particularly with systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Modicon, is also required. The Electrical Engineer will be involved in estimating maintenance and project costs, as well as developing accurate timelines for project completion. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project is necessary, along with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes. Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization in both written and oral formats.
  • Manage and supervise craft employees and contractors.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems, controls, drives, and power systems.
  • Estimate maintenance/project costs and develop accurate timelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety hazards associated with low to medium voltage equipment.
  • Work collaboratively in a cross-functional and team-oriented environment.
  • Keep current with the latest equipment, processes, and procedures related to the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical competency in electrical systems, controls, and drives.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon).
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code, including NFPA70E.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and familiar with MS Project.
  • Willingness to acquire new technical and leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred knowledge and troubleshooting skills of overhead and gantry cranes.
  • Familiarity with Aluminum Coil Processing processes.
  • Working knowledge of Process systems (IBA, Pi).
