About the position

As an Electrical Engineer focusing on power and control systems at Anduril Industries, you will play a crucial role in developing advanced military vehicle technologies. This position involves designing, testing, and integrating complex electrical systems, ensuring they meet the rigorous demands of military applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the capabilities of military systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work on building the future of military vehicles including smart power systems, edge compute, combat, network and RF communications.
  • Lead or support full cycle PCB design including defining requirements, schematic design, component selection, supervision or completion of layout, bring-up, test, debug and integration with the system.
  • Define, architect, test and integrate modules and subsystems into full vehicle system including hardware selection.
  • Develop communication architectures for CAN, ethernet, and serial based electrical devices.
  • Plan and document power and signal interconnections between system components through definition of block diagrams and harness schematic drawings that connect electrical equipment within the vehicle.
  • Build vehicle electrical bench setups and HIL systems to facilitate bring-up, development, testing and validation.
  • Troubleshoot issues that span the electrical and firmware/software boundaries using lab test equipment.
  • Work closely with other electrical, mechanical, harness, firmware, software, and test engineers to deliver fully functional products.
  • Conduct peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment supporting new developments, deployments, and customer operated hardware.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 6+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex system designs.
  • General understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and theory with technical experience demonstrating the application of those concepts while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance such as grounding and fault protection.
  • Hands-on technical experience with integrating and debugging complex power and communications systems as well as firmware-controlled electrical or electromechanical devices.
  • Experience designing mixed-signal PCBs with multiple layer counts, layer stackup and impedance matching for power and sensor applications, understanding correct grounding approaches and employing appropriate board protections and filtering.
  • Understanding of low voltage and high voltage power electronics and control systems in order to capture system interconnect diagrams and drive cable harnessing designs with proper wire and connector selection.
  • Ability to perform power system and electrical loading analysis, simulation, and testing to determine optimal solutions.
  • High competence using lab test equipment (benchtop power supplies, electronics loads, oscilloscopes, DMM, logic/spectrum analyzers, etc.) with familiarity of thermal and EMI test chambers and using basic software debugging tools.
  • Familiarity with battery and UPS systems of various chemistries along with high voltage and low voltage safety and design considerations.
  • Familiarity with common electrical bus interfaces (CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, RS232/422, RS485, USB).
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of MIL-STD requirements such as MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, MIL-DTL-38999.
  • Familiarity with military ground equipment vendors and rugged system component suppliers from past experience in DoD programs.

Benefits
