About the position

Primoris Engineering, located in Houston, TX, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support various midstream EPC projects. The Electrical Engineer will play a crucial role in providing engineering support to the Procurement team and Project Engineers, addressing any engineering-related issues or questions that arise for awarded projects. This position involves analyzing past project data to assist with material forecasting for future projects, as well as contributing to the development of Electrical Engineering calculation processes for string sizing, DC and MV cable calculations, studies, inverter sizing, and inverter quantities for projects. The role also includes developing preliminary design concepts based on engineering principles for solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) design for Requests for Proposals (RFPs). The Electrical Engineer will provide essential support and documentation to various teams, including engineering, estimating, business development, and proposals. Collaboration with estimating, procurement, project management, and construction teams is vital to ensure ongoing support with design concepts and optimization of solar PV systems. Additionally, the engineer will review utility interconnection documents such as facility studies, interconnection agreements, and power purchase agreements, and work closely with CAD designers to guide the creation of layouts, single-line diagrams, and other design drawings and details. Mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodologies, and safety will be part of the job responsibilities, along with utilizing company-suggested means and methods for effective communication with internal and external teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Procurement team and Project Engineers regarding engineering-related issues for awarded projects.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering
• 1-2 years' experience within the electrical engineering field
• Experience with Solar PV or other Renewable Energy Construction projects is a plus
• Preferred experience in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Microsoft Office
• Electrical engineering simulation software experience is a plus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills for internal and external communication
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications.
