About the position

The Electrical Engineer / Procurement Engineer position at Constellation Energy focuses on executing engineering activities to support nuclear plant operations, particularly in determining technical procurement requirements. The role involves ensuring compliance with engineering design and technical specifications for nuclear power plants, supporting emergency response activities, and performing evaluations in accordance with various regulatory and technical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Engineering processes and programs that comply with Engineering design and technical specification requirements for Nuclear Power Plants.
  • Support the Business Units' Emergency Response activities as assigned.
  • Analyze equipment utilized in nuclear plants and establish commercial grade dedication that complies with design, technical specification and code requirements.
  • Perform evaluations in accordance with Nuclear Power Plant Engineering procedures and technical specifications codes such as ASME, ANS, ASTM, ANSI, IEEE, EPRI, ISA, NEI, and NERC NRC regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in completion of multiple component evaluations and self-manage assignments utilizing applied scheduling tools.
  • Provide timely and effective communication with affected site work groups, peers, vendors, and managers regarding all aspects of work being performed.
  • Provide support for Nuclear Oversight and Regulatory Audits.
  • Reconcile equipment documentation to the ASME Code.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or related field for all levels.
  • Two (2) years' experience for Procurement Engineer II.
  • Five (5) years' experience for Procurement Engineer III.
  • Excellent PC and computer skills (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with strengths in organization and planning for Procurement Engineer II and III.
  • Good analytical skills for Procurement Engineer II; strong analytical skills for Procurement Engineer III.
  • Proficient working knowledge of the Passport PE module for Procurement Engineer III.
  • Working knowledge of the Engineering Change, Inventory, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable modules for Procurement Engineer III.
  • Strong print reading ability and project management skills for Procurement Engineer III.

Nice-to-haves

  • Negotiation skills for Procurement Engineer III.
  • Understanding of commodities, suppliers, market alignments and supply concepts.
