About the position

We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly-skilled Electrical Engineer to join our vibrant Product Development team. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the creation and evolution of cutting-edge products in the HVAC industry. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in the design, development, testing, and modification of electrical components, equipment, and systems. This position requires a combination of strong technical skills and creative thinking, with a focus on practical application and problem-solving. As an Electrical Engineer, you will evaluate and provide a written analysis of the "product definition" document to assess the technical feasibility of the proposed project. You will perform all required engineering calculations to determine performance metrics and create initial conceptual drawings of the project design. Additionally, you will oversee the construction of prototypes and develop and conduct tests to verify that the prototype design meets established standards and adheres to sound engineering practices. You will also prepare bills of materials (BOMs) for the new product and supply engineering performance data to support the creation of marketing literature for the final product configuration. Coordination of testing with regulatory agencies and securing the necessary approvals for the new product will be part of your responsibilities. Travel may be required to manage and oversee final product testing and agency approval processes. Lastly, you will ensure compliance with all Quality and Environmental Management System policies, objectives, and obligations, while performing additional related tasks and responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
  • 1-5 years of product development experience required.
  • Design Engineering knowledge requirements include: Sizing and selection of electrical power components for circuits up to and including 575v/3ph.
  • Low voltage electromechanical control circuit design.
  • PLC and microprocessor-based control circuit design.
  • Basic understanding of high voltage conversion for use in computer facility power distribution.
  • DDC controls and rudimentary programming.
  • Proficient with CAD design tools to develop prototype drawings.
