About the position

The Electrical Engineer / Project Management Co-Op position at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is designed for college students majoring in Electrical Engineering or related fields. This part-time, temporary role focuses on project management within the Facilities Department, providing interns with hands-on experience in managing operations and contributing to various projects such as office renovations and equipment installations. Interns will develop their skills through project-oriented assignments and professional development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in project management for office renovations and equipment installations/upgrades.
  • Evaluate mechanical and electrical distribution systems.
  • Take accurate notes during meetings and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Work independently with limited supervision on assigned tasks.
  • Utilize software tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and Revit for project documentation and design.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a college student majoring in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
  • Intermediate related work or volunteer experience preferred, ideally as a second-year Co-Op.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit 3D modeling.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to demonstrate initiative.
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Building Automation System Integration (BMS/BAS).
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems such as AHUs, chillers, and cooling towers.

Benefits

  • Hourly compensation of $23/hr.
