About the position

Axient is seeking several Electrical Engineers (Robotics) to support the development, design, test, and manufacturing of electronic Motion Control products and systems. This role involves collaboration within a multi-disciplinary project team to transition flight-ready products to manufacturing and test engineering teams, primarily based in Altadena, CA, with additional locations in Boulder, CO, or Hyattsville, MD. The position is laboratory-based and does not offer remote or hybrid work options.

Responsibilities

  • Support a multi-disciplinary project team collaborating on multi-board designs through development.
  • Transition flight-ready products to manufacturing and test engineering teams.
  • Conduct embedded system design, including Schematic Capture and PCB Layout, Digital, Analog, and Mixed Signal Design.
  • Implement board-level communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN).
  • Design controlled impedance for high-speed channel design (SpaceWire, 10GbE, SerDes).
  • Perform linear and switch mode DC/DC power conversion.
  • Document test procedures and reports, interface control documents, and ECOs.
  • Conduct design analysis and simulation (WCA/WCCA, Reliability, Radiation, Spice).
  • Design cable and wire harnesses.
  • Ensure signal and power integrity (SI/PI).
  • Address electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited technical college or university in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
