About the position

Anduril Industries is seeking a talented individual to join our team in the development of advanced payloads for Space. This position is integral to our mission of transforming military capabilities through cutting-edge technology. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be involved in the design, fabrication, and flight testing of innovative payloads, contributing to projects from conceptualization through to production. You will work with a variety of systems, including sensors, payload interfaces, power management, and networking, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. In this role, you will be responsible for the development of payloads and subsystems, performing or supervising board layout to ensure proper component placement and compliance with design standards. You will troubleshoot issues that span both electrical and software domains, utilizing lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters, as well as software debugging tools. Your ability to develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses will be crucial in connecting electronic equipment within subsystems, ensuring clear and accurate documentation. Collaboration is key in this position, as you will work closely with electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers to deliver fully functional products. You will conduct peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews to uphold high-quality design standards through rigorous review processes and continuous improvement practices. This role requires a proactive approach to managing multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high-quality work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Development of payloads and subsystems for Space, including sensors, payload interfaces, power management, and networking.
  • Perform or supervise board layout, ensuring proper component placement, routing, and compliance with design standards.
  • Troubleshoot issues that span the electrical and software boundaries using lab equipment and software debugging tools.
  • Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses that connect electronic equipment within a subsystem, ensuring clear and accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and test engineers to deliver fully functional products.
  • Conduct peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews to ensure high-quality design standards through rigorous review processes.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in a multidisciplinary environment, preferably in space systems or related fields.
  • B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Strong organization and communication skills with the ability to manage projects and work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Experience performing board bring-up and schematic reviews, with hands-on experience in PCB design, layout, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience developing detailed technical drawings and documentation.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and deadlines independently while maintaining high-quality work.
  • Must be a team player and contribute to team success.
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Schematic and layout design experience in Altium Designer.
  • Experience performing PDN analysis and understanding power distribution networks and their optimization.
  • Experience with differential pair routing and debugging.
  • Experience with power circuit design and implementation.
  • Proficient in soldering for prototyping and repairs.
  • 1+ years of experience in New Space, working in the commercial space sector.
