About the position

The Electrical Engineer System Design position at General Atomics involves supporting the engineering staff in analyzing and resolving engineering problems related to advanced technical systems. This entry-level role requires a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering and offers the opportunity to work on innovative solutions for electrical power systems and vehicle management systems within a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develops innovative but practical solutions for advanced technical systems, including electrical power systems and vehicle management/flight control systems.
  • Architects electrical systems and evaluates electrical circuits at a system level.
  • Provides technical direction to internal functional engineering disciplines and vendors.
  • Develops and presents reports and technical briefs to communicate complex technical concepts during engineering meetings.
  • Represents the organization as a prime technical contact within the engineering team for assigned projects.
  • Addresses technical issues requiring novel and creative approaches.
  • Participates in the development of new or expansion of existing business opportunities.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Observes all laws, regulations, and applicable obligations during business operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Two or more years of engineering experience with a bachelor's degree, or equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
  • General understanding of electrical engineering concepts such as power, grounding, and analog/digital circuitry.
  • Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in an evolving environment.
  • Excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience with FAA Regulations, NATO Standards, and Military Specifications is desired.
  • Familiarity with GA-ASI products is desired.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with aircraft electrical systems is desired.
  • Aircraft pilot experience is desired but not required.
