About the position

The Electrical Engineer - Test and Integration position at Boeing involves working within the Electro-Optical (EO) / Infra-Red (IR) Mission Systems team, focusing on the design, development, and testing of advanced sensor systems for airborne and space platforms. The role requires collaboration in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the entire lifecycle of product design from conceptualization to prototype testing. The position is primarily onsite in Huntington Beach, California, and requires a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end design of electronics, including analog, digital, and power circuits, circuit card design, and parts selection and evaluation
  • Analyzes customer and system requirements and develops architectural approaches and detailed specifications for various electronic products
  • Creates and executes test plans at the card, unit, and payload levels
  • Reviews testing and analysis activity to assure compliance to requirements
  • Identifies, tracks, and statuses technical performance measures to measure progress and ensure compliance with requirements
  • Coordinates engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product
  • Supports research projects to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 2+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with digital and/or analog circuit design
  • Experience with schematic board capture and/or PCB layout
  • Experience testing, troubleshooting and repairing circuit cards and next higher assemblies

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience with electrical design for sensor systems
  • Experience with design and test of avionics hardware
  • Experience with unit design using high-speed SERDES
  • Experience with schematic board capture and/or PCB layout design experience of mixed digital/analog circuit cards
  • Experience testing, troubleshooting and repairing circuit cards and next higher assemblies using FPGA development tools, Oscilloscopes, Power supplies, Multi-meters and custom test fixtures
  • Experience with design and test of avionics hardware including selection and use of radiation tolerant components
  • Experience writing VHDL code to support test and validation of FPGA functionality and attached physical interfaces
  • Experience with Xilnx FPGA families including Kintex, Artix, UltraScale or Versal series
