About the position

Pond is seeking an experienced Electrical Transmission and Substation Engineer to join their Energy team. The role involves supporting the Power Services program by delivering projects for clients across the United States, with a focus on transmission and substation design. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of relevant experience and a strong desire for growth and collaboration, working independently while managing multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of substation equipment, assisting in selection and specification.
• Design electric transmission and substation projects, including layouts, electrical design, and routing for voltages from LV to EHV.
• Create drawings for transmission line and substation construction.
• Perform electrical calculations for substation and transmission system design.
• Coordinate with internal project managers and disciplines to ensure project success.
• Prepare engineering deliverables, including contract documents and studies.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.
• Assist with equipment specifications, bid evaluations, and procurement.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Travel to client sites and industry conferences as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional Engineering License (PE) or on the path to obtain PE.
• 5+ years of experience in transmission and substation design.
• Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and design software.
