About the position

PGL, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Fisher, Illinois. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing Capital and O&M project plans for the installation and maintenance of all power distribution and electronic devices within the Manlove Storage Field. Your responsibilities will include overseeing station power distribution (2400V and below), providing back-up generator support, and ensuring electrical power and communication (4-20mV and foundation field bus) to various buildings, processes, equipment, valves, actuators, and transmitters. You will also support DCS/SCADA systems and implement LOTO (lock-out-tag-out) procedures. In this role, you will manage cross-functional projects that are complex in nature, involve multiple stakeholders, and carry a medium to high degree of risk. You will be expected to plan and conduct work that requires independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and adapting standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. This includes devising new approaches to problems encountered in the field. Most assignments will be performed independently, with general instructions provided regarding expected results. Experience with telemetry, remote terminal units (RTUs), instrumentation, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is desirable. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing regulatory-required inspections, verification tests, and maintaining proper records retention. You will also assist Technicians and Control System Administrators in troubleshooting performance or operational issues as needed. Maintaining AutoCAD electrical and pneumatic prints, as well as OEM technical documentation for equipment and devices, will also be part of your duties. This position is part of the Engineering job family, which includes Associate Engineer, Engineer, and Senior Engineer roles, with experience being the determining factor for placement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Capital and O&M project plans for installation and maintenance of power distribution and electronic devices.

  • Support DCS/SCADA systems and implement LOTO procedures.

  • Conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of standard techniques and procedures.
  • Complete regulatory required inspections and verification tests in a timely manner.

  • Assist Technicians and Control System Admins in troubleshooting performance or operational issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience (internship/co-op experience may be included)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience with AutoCAD and SAP
  • 2+ years' utility or industrial facility engineering experience with power distribution and/or controls
  • 2+ years' experience with DCS/SCADA/control systems
  • 2 years' experience in a regulated industry
