About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at our client in Merrimack, NH, is a contract-to-hire role that offers an exciting opportunity to work on medical device design and development projects. The successful candidate will be involved in various levels of engineering assignments, including Senior, Principal, or Technical Lead roles. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, creativity, and initiative, as the Electrical Engineer will engage in significant hands-on design and development projects. The role also involves preparing technical proposals and coordinating with both internal teams and external customers, ensuring that the engineering work aligns with project objectives and customer needs. In this role, the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for carrying out specific technical assignments that contribute to the overall program objectives. This includes creating board designs from scratch based on block diagrams, developing reliability models for various electrical and electronic subassemblies, and ensuring component reliability through thorough evaluation of suppliers' specifications and manufacturing processes. The engineer will also review and implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) objectives, evaluate designs for technical soundness, and lead experiments to determine the operating characteristics of prototypes and products. The position requires the Electrical Engineer to provide technical direction to other engineering personnel, primarily technicians, and to participate in preparing proposals for new projects. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, along with a strong background in electrical and electronic design, including digital, analog, and power supply design. Experience with CAD tools for schematic design and a solid understanding of regulatory compliance and product safety standards are also essential for this role.
