About the position

Leidos is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. This position is part of the SLMS mission, where you will support the Space-Based Infrared Systems (SBIRS) and the PSF/SNP Program Office, as well as the Greeley Air National Guard and Buckley AFB. The role involves conducting research and modernization activities for the SBIRS Survivable and Endurable elements, which include phased array antennas, data processing subsystems, and UHF communications rack equipment. You will also provide depot-level maintenance support to the 233rd Space Group in Greeley, CO. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for updating Technical Orders (TO) and composing Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO). You will respond to emergency issues at the 233rd Space Group by providing on-site support and troubleshooting for Mobile Ground Terminals and Communication Vehicles. This includes performing mission vehicle capabilities requirements analyses to develop and prioritize sustainment activities. Your work will involve both independent tasks and collaboration within small, multi-functional groups, often under the guidance of a more senior engineer or technician. In this role, you will leverage your specialized training and experience in system controls and satellite communications systems to support modernization efforts, including requirements analysis, product selection, functional analysis, and decomposition. You will also be involved in the validation and verification of product suitability and maintainability. Your responsibilities will include modification projects in electrical, mechanical, or information technologies, reviewing performance and environmental requirements, and recommending solutions to the lead engineer. Upon approval, you will develop procurement and installation plans and capture the work in Space Force Technical Orders. The position requires short-term travel to Greeley, Colorado, or other remote operating locations to provide emergency or urgent depot-level support to return mission equipment to operations. You will identify the cause of outages and repair equipment when possible, or support the team in developing a course of action to return the equipment to service and provide status updates until complete.
