About the position

Piper Companies is actively seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a global pharmaceutical organization dedicated to providing innovative solutions for chronic diseases. The Electrical Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the maintenance, operation, and improvement of all site electrical systems. This position is based in the Raleigh, NC area and operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that electrical systems are designed, installed, and maintained to meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency. In this role, the Electrical Engineer will evaluate electrical system designs and installations, assessing products, components, capabilities, suitability, and applications. The engineer will manage, design, and execute various electrical system distribution projects, including maintenance, upgrades, modifications, and improvements. A key responsibility will be to evaluate completed installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards. Additionally, the Electrical Engineer will support Maintenance Technicians in troubleshooting instruments, valves, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and Motor Starters, ensuring that all systems function optimally. The position also requires configuring VFDs and ensuring their integration with the process automation system, which is essential for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of the electrical systems within the organization. This role is vital for the continuous improvement of electrical systems, contributing to the overall success of the pharmaceutical organization.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate electrical system designs and installations, products, components, capabilities, suitability and applications
  • Manage, design, and execute electrical system distribution, maintenance, upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects
  • Evaluate completed installations and observe operation to ensure conformance to design and equipment specification and compliance with safety standards
  • Support Maintenance Technicians with troubleshooting of instruments, valves, VFDs, and Motor Starters
  • Configure VFDs and ensure integration with process automation system

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering
  • 1-5 years of experience in an electrical, industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience with voltages 480 and down
  • Electrical Distribution experience
