About the position

Actalent is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and support custom PCBA for automated packaging platforms. This role involves system design, implementation, and release to manufacturing, with a focus on integrating various electronic components into the system PCBA. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the electrical architecture and will participate in all phases of development and production, including troubleshooting field issues.

Responsibilities

• Work with an interdisciplinary team to execute electrical system designs from concept to production including design, validation, testing and certification
• Assist other electrical engineers with design elements, simulation, testing, documentation and troubleshooting on next generation designs
• Own the electrical implementation and design of electric system
• Own developing control schemes and supporting calibration development
• Evaluate new technologies and industry trends for inclusion in future programs

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering (or similar field)
• 5+ years experience with schematic entry, layout tools and DFx (preferred Altium toolset)
• 5+ years experience with microcontroller design (STM32, ESP32, or similar)
• 5+ years experience with communication interfaces (CAN/LIN/FlexRay/Ethernet/SPI/I2C, etc...)
• 3+ years experience in medium volume production environments (10,000+ units per year)
• Ability to support domestic and international travel as required by the program
