About the position

Bowley Jones LLC is seeking a licensed full-time Electrical Engineer to manage a portfolio of electrical consulting projects from inception to completion. The role involves performing site surveys, developing electrical designs, maintaining client relationships, and overseeing construction administration. The ideal candidate will be motivated, entrepreneurial, and eager to contribute to the company's success while growing professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site and building system surveys.
  • Develop and draw complex electrical design solutions in accordance with current code requirements.
  • Resolve complex design challenges while instilling confidence in clients.
  • Represent the firm at client meetings and communicate effectively with project teams and clients.
  • Grow and maintain professional relationships with local jurisdictions and utility companies.
  • Provide stellar customer service while marketing the firm's capabilities.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for Design Engineers.
  • Review work produced by staff for quality assurance and oversee designs through project construction/completion.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks to complete work efficiently.
  • Complete electrical calculations including load studies and voltage drop.
  • Accurately produce narratives, drawings, and specifications to meet project milestones.
  • Attend coordination and design meetings as needed.
  • Address comments from clients and review authorities.
  • Provide construction administration services including review of shop drawings and RFIs.

Requirements

  • PE license in Maryland.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited University program.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing electrical systems for multifamily, commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.
  • Broad knowledge of standard codes and compliance methods.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Understanding and application of NEC, IBC, and NFPA codes for electrical design work.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SKM software tools and Lighting Design software (i.e. AGI, Visual).
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and within a team.
