About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Actalent involves the design and development of electrical systems for various types of buildings, including commercial, residential, and industrial. The role is primarily focused on K-12 projects, with a significant portion of the work dedicated to renovations and additions within school districts. The engineer will spend most of their time on design tasks, while also engaging in construction administration activities such as client communication and managing requests for information (RFIs).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems for commercial, residential, and industrial buildings.
• Prepare detailed electrical design drawings and specifications using Revit or AutoCAD.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Engage in construction administration tasks including client phone calls, RFIs, and submittals.
• Spend 70% of work time on K-12 projects involving renovations, additions, and demolitions.

Requirements

• Mid to senior level experience in electrical engineering.
• Proficiency in electrical load calculations.
• Experience in lighting design and power distribution planning.
• Strong skills in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Excellent client communication skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective time management skills.
