About the position

We have an immediate opening for a full-time Electrical Engineer to design and implement advanced optical storage systems and hardware. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of engineers and managers to develop specifications and implementations of robotics controls and optical storage software for the next generation optical storage library. The primary functions of this design position include the architecture, design, evaluation, and performance measurement of advanced optical storage systems and hardware. Your daily responsibilities will encompass working with OEM optical drives and media, developing hardware and systems for reliability and availability, and collaborating with software and manufacturing counterparts. This position requires a strong focus on developing electrical hardware for optical storage systems and robotics, as well as ensuring that all designs meet the necessary specifications and reliability standards. As part of your role, you will manage several design verification test projects, resources, and goals in parallel while maintaining a structured development environment. This position is critical to the success of our optical storage systems, and your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of our products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical hardware for optical storage systems and robotics

Requirements

  • 8 years of hands-on general electrical hardware design experience
  • 4 years of hands-on magnetic or optical storage systems experience
  • 4 years of general electrical schematic design experience
  • 4 years of system design and integration experience
  • Strong background in formal design and testing principles and methodologies
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • BSEE
