About the position

The Electrical Engineer will focus on power electronics component analysis, PCB design, and system-level electrical performance evaluation. This role involves working closely with the lead power electronics engineer to ensure compliance with UL/CE standards and to support the manufacturing process for EV charging products. The position requires a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in power electronics, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform key power electronics component analysis and evaluation, such as power semiconductor, magnetics, capacitors, etc.
• Conduct Print Circuit Board (PCB) root cause analysis and provide recommendations.
• Perform system level electrical performance evaluation and provide root cause analysis.
• Characterize power semiconductor devices for power semiconductors.
• Execute and perform PCBA and/or system level UL/CE agency compliance analysis and test.
• Support manufacturing engineers in operating end-of-line equipment for EV charging products, which may require a few weeks of travel during the contract period.

Requirements

• Minimum B.S. in Electrical Engineering, specializing in power electronics preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, particularly in power electronics.
• Experience designing and evaluating high voltage PCB boards.
• Experience in designing/testing high voltage power converters preferred.
• Skilled in working in a lab environment with high voltage and current.
• Experience with product certification to UL/CE standards for power electronics products.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience of EMI/EMC designing, testing, and optimization design for power electronics products.
• Understanding of power semiconductor switches and diodes, and their characteristics.
