Farnsworth Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in St. Louis, MO, as well as in our Denver, CO, and Peoria or Champaign, IL offices. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative group of Engineers, Architects, Surveyors, and Scientists who are dedicated to making meaningful contributions to the world around us. As an Electrical Engineer, you will take on multi-project responsibilities for full electrical design, which includes Power Distribution, Controls, Renewable Energy Systems, Medium Voltage Systems, Substations, Lighting, and Communications for various sectors such as industrial, oil and gas, advanced manufacturing, and renewable energy markets. In this role, you will actively engage in and assume responsibility for a variety of tasks including code research and application, fieldwork to ascertain existing conditions, and the development of preliminary schematics through to final designs. You will also be responsible for calculations, equipment specifications, sizing, and layout, as well as coordination with other production staff and engineering disciplines. Your work will involve the preparation of accurate electrical system construction drawings and specifications, submittal review, and construction administration. Additionally, you will conduct power systems studies and interface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors while maintaining project design budgets and schedules. This position also includes a mentoring component, where you will have the opportunity to mentor designers and drafters. You will report to an engineering manager who will provide mentoring and training opportunities for your professional growth and advancement.
