About the position

General Dynamics Mission Systems is seeking a Digital Design Engineer to join the Land and Air Systems Engineering Team. This role involves designing and building resilient hardware and software solutions for national security missions, working collaboratively with a multi-discipline team to meet the needs of various Department of Defense customers. The position emphasizes creative thinking, innovative solutions, and adherence to industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance business performance.
• Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet changing business needs.
• Support and engage in programs, projects, and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, complying with all policies and procedures.
• Follow industry and department trends to ensure GDMS services are consistent with or superior to industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
• Experience with schematic capture.
• Experience designing multi-layer Printed Circuit Boards.
• Ability to analyze and test for signal integrity and crosstalk.
• Familiarity with different families of Micro Processors, Micro Controllers, FPGAs, and System-on-Chips.
• Demonstrated initiative and strong independent judgment.
• Ability to technically lead and mentor less senior engineers.

Nice-to-haves

• Preferred experience with Mentor design tools.
• Experience with Xilinx SOC.
