About the position

A multi-disciplinary, award-winning MEP Engineering client is currently seeking a highly creative Senior-Level Electrical Engineer/Department Head to join their growing team. This firm is known for working on large-scale, challenging projects that include Healthcare Facilities, Airports, Research Laboratories, Petrochemical Labs, Higher Education, Government, Municipal, K-12, and Commissioning Projects. The Senior Electrical Engineer will collaborate with an experienced group of designers to prepare comprehensive building electrical plans and specifications. In this role, the Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the detailed design, modeling, and analysis of normal and emergency power distribution systems. They will also design life safety systems and model lighting and associated control systems. Coordination with the Plumbing, Mechanical, Architectural, Structural, and Telecommunication/Audio Visual disciplines is essential to ensure a cohesive design approach. The position requires acting as a leader in the department, supervising staff's day-to-day responsibilities, and mentoring them in both technical knowledge and career development. The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead projects in all facets by interfacing with clients, providing technical excellence, and managing the project team and schedule to achieve successful project outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Detailed design, modeling, and analysis of normal and emergency power distribution systems.
  • Design life safety systems.
  • Design and model lighting and associated control systems.
  • Coordinate with the Plumbing, Mechanical, Architectural, Structural, and Telecommunication/Audio Visual disciplines' design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • PE License is a MUST.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects.
