About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) involves providing engineering services to support maintenance and operations at the Tomahawk, WI facility. The engineer will work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams to enhance equipment performance and reliability while adhering to company policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering services to maintenance and operating department personnel to resolve maintenance, technical, and equipment reliability issues.
  • Establish and maintain safe work practices and a safe work environment for coworkers and employees.
  • Enforce mill rules and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Supervise mill and contract employees as required.
  • Maintain equipment files and databases, understanding equipment operation and function to determine maintenance needs.
  • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance procedures to ensure equipment availability.
  • Collaborate with peers to maintain equipment and achieve uptime goals.
  • Prepare scope and cost estimates for assigned projects.
  • Develop engineering, procurement, and construction strategies for projects.
  • Design and implement approved projects.
  • Monitor and control project scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Manage project construction and coordinate project commissioning and start-up.
  • Communicate project status to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Provide technical assistance to operations and maintenance to identify and solve routine problems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in setting priorities and delegating tasks.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to facilitate in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to function and contribute within a team environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
