The Electrical Engineer position at ZEISS is a hands-on role focused on electrical integration and power distribution unit design for X-ray Microscope platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, testing, integration, and implementation of electrical systems. This role requires a deep understanding of electro-mechanical sub-systems, from conception through to troubleshooting on the manufacturing floor. The engineer will work closely with software, mechanical, and system teams to ensure seamless subsystem and system integration processes. Additionally, the position involves providing production and field service support, which includes direct interaction with manufacturing and field service teams to resolve issues and improve processes. The Electrical Engineer will also be tasked with writing technical documentation and procedures that adhere to defined quality standards for manufacturing and service. Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems is a critical aspect of this role, as is the development of 3D concept CAD and detailed 2D schematic drawings. The engineer will maintain existing electrical schematics, CAD drawings, specifications, and other documentation, while also designing and documenting cable and cable harness assemblies. Prototyping of cables, harnesses, electro-mechanical assemblies, and low and line voltage power distribution systems will be part of the responsibilities, along with assisting in system optical alignment and integration in the engineering lab as required. This position also requires serving as the technical lead during regulatory approvals, such as UL and CE certifications, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary standards for capital equipment operation in various regions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering principles, hands-on experience with standard electrical engineering bench equipment, and a solid understanding of electrical components used in integration schemes.
