About the position

The Electrical Engineer L5 Advanced Component Technology Lab Engineer position is a critical role based in Palm Bay, FL, focusing on the testing and implementation of customer requirements for complex RF ASIC die, RF ASIC component modules, and RF circuit card assemblies. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and bidding on customer RF ASIC test requirements, ensuring that all specifications are met with precision and efficiency. This role requires close collaboration with RF circuit designers and systems engineers to establish comprehensive test requirements that align with customer needs and project goals. In this position, the engineer will implement automated RF measurements using Visual Basic 6.0, which necessitates a strong understanding of both software and hardware components involved in RF testing. Debugging RF test programs and test fixtures will be a regular part of the job, requiring analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively. The engineer will also analyze RF measurements to determine corrective actions, ensuring that test results correlate accurately with system requirements. Developing efficient RF measurement methods for available Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) and spectrum analyzers is another key responsibility, highlighting the need for innovative thinking and technical expertise in RF measurement techniques. Overall, this role is essential for maintaining high standards in RF testing and ensuring that all products meet the rigorous demands of the industry. The engineer will be expected to work in a team environment, contributing to collaborative efforts while also being able to present RF test methods and results clearly and effectively to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and bidding customer RF ASIC test requirements
• Collaborating with RF circuit designers and systems engineers to establish test requirements
• Implementing automated RF measurements using Visual Basic 6.0
• Debugging RF test programs and test fixtures
• Analyzing RF measurements to determine corrective action to correlate test results with system requirements
• Developing efficient RF measurement methods for available VNAs and spectrum analyzers

Requirements

• BS degree in electrical engineering
• 10+ years of experience in developing test measurements for RF components and RF circuit card assemblies
• 5+ years of experience developing RF electrical test measurements for Rohde & Schwarz VNAs and spectrum analyzers
• 3+ years of experience in automated and manual RF probing of RF ASIC die
• Experience with automating RF measurements
• Experience with de-embedding methods and techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively work in a team environment
• Experience working with Visual Basic 6.0

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in design, layout, construction, and assembly of RF test fixtures
• Experience with RF component test sockets
• Knowledge of Matlab
• Experience with RF simulations
• Good computer skills in use of Microsoft Office and Teams
