About the position

The Senior Electrical Engineer position at Maplewood headquarters involves leading design projects and mentoring junior engineers in a collaborative environment. The role focuses on designing complex electrical systems across various sectors, including healthcare and retail, while providing opportunities for professional growth and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design lighting and power distribution systems for diverse projects.
• Coordinate utility designs and provide system design for low and medium voltage distribution systems.
• Design emergency generation systems, photovoltaic solar systems, UPS, and power conditioning systems.
• Design interior and exterior lighting, including photometric analysis.
• Prepare and edit plans in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Review and edit MasterSpec project specifications.
• Attend client meetings, coordinate deliverables, and participate in drawing reviews.
• Occasionally travel to project sites for fieldwork and verification of existing conditions.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of progressive design experience in electrical systems; strong design background from either consulting or contracting.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering; PE registration or FE certification (PE preferred, but candidates working towards PE will be considered).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office; familiarity with NEC codes and lighting/power system analysis tools (SKM).
• Strong communicator with a hands-on approach to mentoring and team collaboration.
• Capable of leading projects, mentoring junior team members, and developing designs independently.
